Education and Reading Department

The Education and Reading Department at University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College offers the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Early Childhood Development, a Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Development, a Certificate of Proficiency in Early Childhood Development.

The AAS degree is designed to meet the needs of persons interested in working with children from birth through pre-kindergarten. Students must earn a grade of “C" or better in each course to satisfy requirements for the AAS degree. Upon completion of this degree and successfully passing the exit exam, students may apply for the Birth through Pre-kindergarten Teaching Credential through the Division of Early Care and Education of the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

To ensure you are working with the correct degree plan, it is important to meet with an Education advisor at the very beginning of your coursework at UA - Pulaski Technical College. If you are transferring from another college it is very important to have your official transcript audited by the Office of the Registrar to make sure you are not taking courses that you have already completed.
