Jeremiah graduated from UA-PTC in May 2017 with a degree in Baking and Pastry Science. Continuing his education is all part of his plan to reach his goal of owning “a quiet little bakery/cafe in the coastal country somewhere.” He already runs a small dessert catering business called the Messy Baker Company, and provides dessert for events such as weddings, anniversaries and birthdays.
While he was the Culinary Arts and Management Institute, he competed in several competitions. He was named Student Pastry Chef of the Year in 2016 by the American Culinary Federation’s Central Arkansas Cooks Association. When his baking instructor, Jan Lewandowski, advanced to the National Pastry Chef competition, she selected Jeremiah to be her assistant at the competition.
“The care and support given to me from my instructors was crucial to my success at UA-PTC,” Jeremiah said. “They helped me push my own boundaries and wouldn't let me say ‘No’ to a good opportunity, like competition.”
