Arkansas Scholars Award

$1,000 annual award for two years to high school seniors who complete the Arkansas Scholars criteria while in high school and enroll at UA-PTC the fall semester following their high school graduation. Awarded in $500 increments during the Fall and Spring semesters only. The scholarship is renewable for up to four semesters if the student maintains continuous enrollment at UA-PTC as a full-time (12 hours or more) student and achieves a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the end of their first academic year. To receive this award, students must provide the UA-PTC Financial Aid Office a copy of their high school transcript or diploma containing the Arkansas Scholars seal or the Arkansas Scholars certificate presented by UA-PTC by June 1. Pulaski County Single Parent Scholarship Fund

The Pulaski County Single Parent Scholarship Fund (SPSF) provides financial assistance to single parents in Pulaski County who are pursuing higher education and are enrolled as full-time students.

The fund provides $2,700 per year ($900 each fall, spring, and summer semester) per recipient to help pay for tuition, fees, books, daycare, rent or mortgage, utility assistance, professional dues, testing fees, transportation needs, diapers, food, and other financial needs.

Scholarship recipients are also involved in mentoring programs and workshops that are designed to ensure student success in college and in life.

Ralph G. Norman Scholarship Application

The Learning Disabilities Association of Arkansas is seeking applicants for its annual Ralph G. Norman Scholarship. The Ralph G. Norman Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $2,500 to an individual with a documented learning disability who will be enrolled in the Fall Semester at a university, two-year community college, or a vocational/technical training program.

The ideal scholarship recipient is an individual who:

  • Recognizes and understands his or her learning disability and is able to self-advocate when necessary
  • Is committed to pursuing higher academic study or career training and has begun to set realistic career goals
  • Is committed to achieving personal goals despite the challenges of a learning disability
  • Participates in school and community activities

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

To be eligible for the Ralph G. Norman scholarship, the applicant must:

  • Be an individual who will be attending a university, two-year community college or a vocational or technical training program
  • Be a current Arkansas resident
  • Be able to provide most current documentation of an identified learning disability. Eligible learning disabilities include:
    • Impairment in Reading (Dyslexia)
    • Basic Reading/Word Reading Accuracy
    • Reading Rate/Reading Fluency
    • Reading Comprehension
    • Impairment in Written Expression (Dysgraphia)
    • Impairment in Mathematics (Dyscalculia)
    • Math Calculation
    • Math Problem Solving

*Special Course Fees: Some programs, including but not limited to Aviation, Culinary, Technical and Industrial programs, Occupational Therapy Assistant, & Respiratory programs, require additional course fees. These additional course fees may not be covered by a scholarship. For information regarding course fees for these programs, please contact the program division. Skills USA Award

Up to $1,000 annual award for two years to high school seniors who receive a Skills USA Medal during competition while in high school and enroll at UA-PTC the fall semester following their high school graduation. $500 for Gold, $400 for Silver, and $300 for Bronze Medal winners will be awarded only during the Fall and Spring semesters. The award is renewable for up to four semesters if the student maintains continuous enrollment at UA-PTC as a full-time (12 hours or more) student and achieves a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the end of their first academic year. To receive this award, students must provide the UA-PTC Financial Aid Office with a Copy of their Skills USA Medal certificate presented by June 1.
