Title IX/Sexual Harassment & Discrimination

No person at the University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College will, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefit of, or be subjected to sex discrimination, sexual harassment, or sexual misconduct under any education program or activity.

Title IX protects the college community from sexual harassment in a school's education programs and activities. This means that Title IX protects the college community in connection with all academic, educational, extracurricular, athletic, and other programs of the school, whether those programs take place in a school's facilities, in college transportation, at a class or training program sponsored by the school at another location, or elsewhere.

The college has designated the following employee to coordinate its compliance with Title IX, including complaints of sex discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual misconduct.

About Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 ("Title IX") provides that no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. 20 U.S.C § 1681.

The United States Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is charged with enforcing compliance with Title IX.
