UA-PTC Early College Mission Statement
The mission of UA – Pulaski Tech’s Early College program is to offer high quality college courses to high school students through concurrent enrollment partnerships with area high schools and by allowing dual enrollment high school students access to traditional college coursework on campus and online.
Eligibility
Students in the 9th-12th grades are eligible to participate in Early College courses. General Education courses include English, Mathematics, Speech Communications, History, Social Sciences, Art, and other transferable courses found on ACTS (Arkansas Course Transfer System). Technical or Career Courses include Welding, Automotive, HVAC, Culinary, various other technical programs, and some Business and Computer Information courses.
Requirements
High school student must have completed the eighth grade and be enrolled in an accredited public or private secondary school or home school to be eligible to take college courses through UA-PTC. Students interested in taking transferable general education courses must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and a 19 in Reading on the ACT (or equivalent score on ACCUPLACER). Please note additional prerequisites or test score requirements may be in place for specific courses.
Students interested in taking career or technical education courses must meet the minimum reading score of 13 on the ACT (or equivalent score on ACCUPLACER). Please note additional prerequisites or test score requirements may be in place for specific courses.
